Affected Tooth Parts
The Affected feature calculates the percentage of the healthy crown impacted by various conditions, helping support both diagnostic documentation and insurance claims.
What’s Calculated
When enabled, the system assesses
-
Existing restoration
-
Caries (decay)
-
Missing tooth structure
These factors are combined into a single percentage value commonly referred to as DMF (Decayed, Missing, Filled).
Note: If a tooth is fully covered by a crown, the affected percentage will not be calculated. This is because the crown completely alters the natural tooth structure.
Display and Legend
When this feature is active:
-
A color-coded radial chart displays the affected percentage.
-
A legend explains what each color indicates.
-
A brief explanation of how the percentage is calculated will appear.
