AI Assist for Denticon - Setup Guide

AI Assist is a Denticon feature powered by Pearl that allows practices to review AI‑detected opportunities for patients scheduled on a given date. The AI Assist Overview page in Denticon displays a list of scheduled patients and indicates whether AI findings are available for each patient.

Users can select a patient to view:

  • AI findings identified by Pearl
  • Appointment and patient details
  • Direct access to Pearl Practice Intelligence

AI Assist automatically retrieves AI data for patients scheduled up to 7 days in advance. A nightly process runs to collect AI information for new appointments added within that window.

Important: AI Assist setup is a shared process between Pearl and the customer. Pearl will guide the customer through setup and provide required credentials.

Today's Timeline

  • The Timeline grid on the left side of the screen will display all appointments scheduled, including new patient appointments, for the selected Office, Provider, and Date.  Once an appointment is selected from the Timeline list, then the right-side view will reveal details of the selected patient including the AI Opportunities associated with that patient.
  • The Timeline grid includes a header row that summarizes AI opportunities for the scheduled patients.  Clicking on a specific tile of this header will serve to filter the list to only patients that have matching assessments. For example, clicking the ‘Implant’ tile will filter to show only patients with Implant assessments. Clicking the ‘Total’ tile will return the user to full view.

Patient Summary

  • The Patient Summary section on the right side of the screen includes an overview of the scheduled patient, their medical alerts and appointments note, as well as information about the services associated with the selected appointment. The row of buttons across the top of this section has the following actions:
    • Restorative Chart button will redirect to the Advanced Charting page
    • Treatment Plan button will redirect to the Treatment Plan Entry page
    • Perio Chart button will open a popup window where the user can view historical perio chart measurements
    • XVWeb Images button will open XVWeb as a new window so that the clinician can view information from the AI Assessments while also viewing images in XVWeb.

Using AI Assist in Denticon:

The Patient Summary view is divided into four sections:

  1. The top section is dedicated to overview details about the selected patient. Familiar icons used in Denticon reveal Medical History, Patient Notes with Attachments, and Patient Quick Info. If the patient has a mobile phone and or an email address, these will appear as links that open respective communications pages in Denticon. Additionally, based on Recall settings the last dates for Full mouth x-rays (FMX), Any bitewing (BWX), Prophy (Cleaning), or Exam are included. If any recall codes are overdue then an overdue indicator will also be present.
  2. The AI Opportunities section is dedicated to displaying any AI findings for the selected patient. The AI Opportunities panel will include any assessment that has been discovered by Pearl’s Practice Intelligence. Each assessment is associated with a study in XVWeb when that assessment was created.
    • Clicking the ‘AI Detected on ….’ hyperlink will open Pearl’s Practice Intelligence in a new window and focus on the specific study date when the assessment was created.
      • Make sure you have your credentials provided by Pearl team members handy.

 Practice Intellegience.png

  • The assessment values are color coded in the display across the top of the viewing area.
  • Individual tiles from the study have a corresponding color dot to correlate instances where a given tile correlates to an assessment value.
  • Clicking on a specific tile reveals all the tools available in Practice Intelligence for interacting with a specific image
  • To return to a full view of the study, the user can cover hover the floating layout diagram which will reveal options to select another tile or return to a higher-level view of the selected study
  • Once the user has concluded viewing the assessment information you can close the Practice Intelligence window to return to the AI Assist Overview.

3. Medical Alerts for the selected patient and Appointment Notes for the selected appointment are displayed below the AI Opportunities section

4. Scheduled Treatment and Unscheduled Treatment tabs.

  • The Scheduled Treatment tab is the default and will show services that are associated with the selected appointment.
  • The Unscheduled Treatment tab will show treatment plan items that are not associated with any future appointments.
