Creating Printouts for Patients and Insurance

Creating Printouts for Patients and Insurance Pearl's Printout feature allows you to export diagnostic images and patient-friendly reports with flexibility. Whether for patient education or insurance claims, printouts provide a professional and customizable way to share findings. The printout modal now includes two tabs: Insurance Documentation and Patient Printout.

Insurance Documentation

  1. Open the Printout feature within Second Opinion
  2. Customize your layout and display options
    1. Customization Options
      1. Images per page – Select how many images to display per page.
      2. Page orientation – Choose between portrait or landscape.
      3. File Type– Choose between JPG or PDF
      4. Image selection – Options include All images, Bitewings only, or Individually selected images.
      5. Pathologies display – Choose which detected conditions to include.
      6. Tooth parts – Optionally include tooth parts for detailed visuals.
      7. Affected Percentages – Include AI-generated percentages of affected teeth to support claims.

  3. Select 'Printout' in the bottom left corner to generate the JPG or PDF download. This file can then be used in insurance claim attachments for supporting evidence. 

Patient Printout


  1. Open the Printout feature within Second Opinion
  2. Navigate to the Patient Printout tab within the modal
  3. Make customizations to display
    1. Detected Pathologies and Teeth– Select which detected pathologies are displayed
    2. Optional Selections
      1. Tooth Parts– Choose to include tooth parts on the images 
      2. Oral Health Score– Select the patient's Oral Health Score 
        1. Good
        2. Fair
        3. Needs Improvement
  4. Select 'Printout' in the bottom left corner to generate the PDF download. This file can then be shared with the patient for treatment presentation or information on their condition.
