Why Does the Last FMX or BWX Date Display as “No Prior”?
Practice Intelligence scans your Practice Management System (PMS) for specific ADA procedure codes to determine whether a patient has a prior Full Mouth Series (FMX), Panoramic radiograph, or Bitewings (BWX) on record.
| Radiograph Type | Recognized Procedure Codes |
| Full Mouth Series (FMX) | D0210, D0330 |
| Bitewings (BWX) | D0272, D0274, D0277 |
Common Reasons "No Prior" Appears
- The patient is new and has no x-ray history in your system.
New patients who haven't had x-rays taken at your practice yet will show "No Prior" until one of the recognized procedure codes is recorded. This is expected behavior and will also trigger a FMX or BWX alert on their appointment.
- The x-ray was recorded under an unrecognized or custom procedure code.
New patients who haven't had x-rays taken at your practice yet will show "No Prior" until one of the recognized procedure codes is recorded. This is expected behavior and will also trigger a FMX or BWX alert on their appointment.
- Your practice recently converted to a new Practice Management System (PMS)—and x-ray records weren't included in your initial data migration.
If your practice recently onboarded or migrated data from a different PMS and x-ray records were not fully transferred, "No Prior" reflects the data available to sync from your current PMS.
